Oppiko was born from a need to pause and focus on what truly matters. From a need to make work life more human – for people who don’t fit into ready-made molds.
Where it all began
Two teachers in the same primary school.
Daily life was full and meaningful, yet demanding at the same time. Rushing at school, rushing at home. Increased support needs, limited resources, and the growing strain on families were all part of the everyday job.
We saw firsthand how children and young people struggled with learning, emotional regulation, and social situations.
And at the same time, we asked ourselves: Could things be done differently?
The idea of something new
The idea of change began to grow in our minds.
How could we support individuals even better? How could we share our expertise more widely – also within working life?
For years, we had worked with interaction, identifying strengths, building collaboration, and resolving various situations.
The turning point
However, the decisive change did not start from the outside – it started within ourselves.
We deepened our expertise. We paused to focus on our own well-being. We built stronger self-awareness.
Once we understood better who we are and what we truly want to do, our direction became crystal clear.
We no longer hesitated.
Oppiko is born
Oppiko Oy was founded on Valentine’s Day in 2020.
In the beginning, it was just the two of us. Over the years, a team has grown around us.
However, our shared direction has remained the same: a desire to build thriving individuals, teams, and work communities.
What we believe in
Well-being is not a by-product of work life. It is the foundation of everything.
We believe that:

In our work, we particularly utilize perspectives from positive psychology as well as a deep understanding of human differences.
Who we are
We are Kirsi and Suvi – the founders of Oppiko.
Having built long careers as teachers, we have seen how immense the significance of connection, understanding, and the right kind of support truly is.
We are united by a desire to listen and to be heard. We believe that the best insights happen when a person is genuinely seen and met.
Looking ahead
For us, Oppiko is much more than a business. It is a way to work in alignment with our values. It is an opportunity to build something meaningful.
